Welcome to Encyclopedia! The year is 1739, and as aspiring naturalists and adventurers, you’ve been hired by the Comte de Buffon - Darwin's predecessor - to help him create his encyclopedia of natural history. To do so, you’ll be conducting research, organizing ambitious expeditions and publishing studies of the world’s most fascinating creatures!

Encyclopedia is a dice-based worker placement game. The aim of the game is to become the biggest contributor to Buffon’s encyclopedia. Through a dice placement mechanic, you will be able to choose different animals to study, prepare for your research and lead expeditions to other continents. All this will allow you to reach your main goal: publishing your findings to impress the public and increase your fame!

Head out in search of the world’s strangest creatures with the Legendary Animals cards. These 15 new Animal cards represent mythical creatures from all over the world, from the elusive Yeti to the majestic Pegasus. Catching sight of them during an Expedition will give you access to their unique powers! 

Add an extra challenge to your games with the Event cards! These cards add changing conditions to the game that might help or hinder your strategy, depending on how lucky you get...

Magna Itinera also adds a set of brand new Expert cards to the game. These keen minds grant unique bonuses, opening up lots of strategic possibilities!
